Default Summer/Winter Oil Selection

I'm wanting to break away from having to drive an hour to pick up a case of Polaris brand oil for my quad.

I've been told that Castrol GTX is just as good but I'm unsure. I don't want any future problems. Can anyone advise me what brand of oil is great to use and what weight of oil should be used during summer and winter months. Thanks for any help!

if it says to run 0-40 synth. oil then stick w/it. poeple have been running amsoil or mobil one and seem to have good luck w/ it. unless your running in zero weather alot i would think that the standard grade(number) oil would be fine. i think some books say you can go to 0-30 or maybe 5-30 in cold weather.

I run 10-40 year around. You could use 20-50 in the summer. I switched from synthetic to dino because it cost less and I can change oil more often. Clean dino is better than dirty synthetic.
You need just to make sure the oil will work with a wet clutch. Most SE, SF SG rated oils will work with a wet clutch.
