Default water in the gas

I added gas to my Xplorer 300 and then was told there was some rain water that got into the gas can. Now my ATV runs sluggish and when I try and give it throttle it tries to die. I only runs with the throttle half pushed. Any suggestions before I drop this thing off at a dealership??

did you try draining the gas out and put some good gas in? I'd try that and only put in about a 1/4 gallon of gas in with a bottle of rubbing alcohol as the alcohol will help get rid of the water. I'd try that and run the 1/4 gsllon out. also check your plug as its probably fouled out now. might be able to clean it up and reuse it

I've also been told that you sometimes have to pull the carb off and totally drain and dry the internals to get all the water out of it if you have run enough water though it from contaminated gas. Something to do with some passages and voids that collect water which can't be cleared by just running fresh gas.

i would drain the gas depending onhow much water is in it and maybe even add some dry gas to help absorb the water. if able it wouldnt hurt to at least drain the carb. bowl. if you have alot of water in it then a carb cleaning wouldnt be out of the question.
