Default what plugs do you guys use?

just got my sp 700 and I've been going over it checking everything out. decided to pull the plugs out. they are champion plugs and were pretty black. I cleaned them off and it made a noticable difference. I got some autolite plugs for it but haven't had a chance to run it till this afternoon. what kind of plugs do you guys run? what's the gap suppose to be? my dad had been running ngk plugs in his artic cat and I changed it out to an autolite and it runs fine. I personnaly don't see the need to pay $6.99 per plug when I can get em for $1.59 at the auto parts store.

i run either champ. or ngk. should be in your manual for the plug gap. maybe even on a sticker under the seat somewhere on a tap w/ valve clearance not sure though w/out looking.

I'm not really fond of ngk's. I've run them in my race car but fouled them out quickly. of course a v8 and a quad motor are totally different. I don't bave the manuel yet for mine. cáanybidy tell me what the gap is suppose to be?

I've had good luck with the NGK's in my drag car & quad. I have a 12 second aircooled vw drag car and have had good luck with the NGK's. Been using the same set for 3 seasons and the car is very consistant. Not a lot of difference between the 2 engines really,,, HA HA.

I have the NGK Iridium plug in my 02 500 HO. This plug, along with a K&N filter, cleaned up the black on my plug and made the engine start better and run much better. These engines are set fat from factory and this combo leaned it out just right. I think this would be a great fix for your bike aswell.

I just back from taking it on some trails. it did well with the autolites. I can tell a little difference with them of course I don't know how long the champions had been in it either. I will be getting a k&n soon as it has the paper filter in it right now. I'm gonna check the plugs tommorrow to see how they look.
