I am not very mechanically inclined. I am trying to change the oil on a 02 sportsman 700. I see an allen bolt under my quad. Is this the drain bolt???? If it is what size is it????? I cant seem to find the drain bolt. Also where do you put the oil. I see the dipstick. Do you put the oil in where the dipstick is. Please help.

WidowMakerMI,
I would highly recommend following Polaris instructions for the Oil Change. Buy their kit, ya
get 3 quarts of OIL, the filter and the O-rings for the plugs. Technically there are two plugs
to drain if you have the 700 Carb like the 450 and 500 class. Drain both plugs, 1 under
the Oil reserve where your Dipstick/Lid top screws on and the other on the opposite side
under the belly frame (right side). After drain both sides, take off filter, replace there tighten
to very tight by hand. After replacing the Orings and fastening back the drain plugs, and fill back
with Oil (usually 2 quarts) there is a Priming Oil pump method. You need to pinch the pump vent hose
and keep it pinched then start the engine hold the pinch for about 15-17 secs and then after you
hear the rush of air then release. -- That is all from my memory, but really follow the steps in the
instruction paper or your manual for all certainity. -- Hope this helps!
