Default Mud drag

The local fire dept is holding a mud drag for atv's. So I'm going to run the machine in my signature, it's a dirt drag machine. I sealed anything that looked sealable, put some paddle type diggers on it even a new iridium NGK. The pit is 2 ft deep and 100 ft long. The question is how do I attack the pit? I think my little 2 wheel drive might go hard down on this one unless I learn how to do this properly. Your opinions and tactics are all welcome. Doc

well hydroplanning is out of the question, not fast enough lol. i would try to keep the front end on top as much as possiable and let the paddles do there job. this is good if the bike is fast enough to maintain some floatabilty if theres such a thing. i would also maybe gear it down a little as the mud will rob alot of the low end power so you'll have a hard time saying in the power band. just thought and unknow facts. good luck and tell us how you did.

Try to be one of the first to go through before it gets rutted out.

wide open throttle --- tall skinny tires on the drive wheels (these dig to the bottom of the pit). --- keep your weight back if its a 2wd.

I tried the pit this evening. I made it as far as some of the 4wd did. I think it's because I stayed on top and they sunk in. I've got until noon to get it where I want it. Doc

depending on how long the pit is, chances are you wouldnt make it all the way thru because you'll loose too much speed and bog down. being as light as the bike is you'll do good because it doesnt sink as fast. skinny tires would dig better true, but you would slow down as your trying to dig thru vs. flying thru nearer the top. it would be nice to try both if you had the time and money to play. let us know how you do.
