Default cv boot problems

I know there are several post on this issue but i am still lost or at least stuck. I ripped my rear inner and my front outer(front only has outer). I got the rear appart and I think I can do that with little problem. My question is the front. I took the front wheel off and the hub. Do I have to take the whole arm off with the spring and all or is there an easier way. i tried to take the bearing in the hub housing out thinking that i could just then slide the shaft housing out a little more and it might just pop off i am trying not to break anything. I know that after reading this that you are probalbly as confused as me. Has anyone ever posted a how to with pics? I am just trying to save some money and do it myself. Any help would be appreciated.

You should be able to take the tie rod end loose and the ball joint loose and be able to pull the axle out.

It's not happening. I got frustrated and switched to changing my trucks transmission fluid. As you can imagine that was not much more relaxing what a mess.

you dont have to mess w/ the spring. just do what sport. said and it should work. and not take out the bearing.

ok i will try tomorrow. I have already disconnected the tie rod for the steering. The ball joint you are reffing to is the one that connects to the a arm from the strut mounting? If so what is the secret to getting that thing loose? I quess i will try a bigger hammer.

Yeah The ball joint is on the very bottom. Just take a hammer and hit the a arm where the ball joint is sticking thru. It helps if you put a little down pressure on the a arm as you hit it.

Ok I got the boots on and now I have a new problem. The brake calipers are stuck closed both front and back. They are only closed on the ones that I took off, the one that is still on the machine is working fine. I can't put them back on with them closed any info would be great I know little to nothing about brakes.

Sounds like maybe someone tried using the brakes while calipers was off and pushed the pistons out. You need to get a C clamp and push the pistons in if thats the case.
