The day that I bout my 400 Scrambler I also ordered a Aaen pipe for it, not knowing the other choices that I had. I have heard that I made a bad choice buying this pipe. I hear everyone talking about HPD, and RCR. Now I am thinking about going ahead and buying another pipe for it after looking at the dyno charts on HPD's site. Now I am just wondering what one to buy. I am looking more at the HPD than the RCR. Basicly because of the dyno chart. If I did go with the RCR I think I would go with the top end pipe, and the trail pipe from HPD. I just would like to know how much this would help over the Aaen, and if it is worth my money to put a dif. pipe on it. Thanks.

I've owned both the RCR mid range and the HPD trail pipes, I have the HPD still on the Quad. Performance wise, there's very little difference between the RCR and HPD pipes. I prefered the routing of the HPD and ability to use the stock silencer / spark arrestor over the RCR. From the photos that I saw, I didn't like the looks of the Aaen pipe.

Now, I'm not one to start viscious rumors, but I heard RCR uses DG pipes. Any truth to this? Just curious.....

HA!

Please tell me that you are joking?

I have an RCR pipe, and it is by no means a DG!

Rick will probably cuss you on this one! (J/K)

What RCR pipe do you have? And do you like it?

I have an RCR mid-range pipe on a fully trail moded machine. I love the pipe to be honest. I had it coated by Jet-Hot. I think the route of the HPD pipe makes for a better fit.

W/ these two pipes, you can pretty much flip a coin to make your decision.

aI can't really say whether or not you made a good choice over HPD or RCR, but I CAN say you made a great choice not buying the Hot Seat Performance pipe :-) I really wish I would have known about this website before I bought what I did, I surely wouldn't have made the same desicion. The pipe doesn't fit (it's smack up against the heat sheild with only heat tape between keeping the plastic from melting) and silencer isn't what they showed in the catalog. Anyway, good luck with the Aaen pipe, hopefully you don't have as many problems as I did with HSP.
