you'll hear it the most when your on and off the throttle but like your seeing and reading its normal.

 

Funny, I've had that same clunking noise in my head since I was 5 and hit a tree head-first sledding. (True story-just not the clunking) People say, "that explains alot". Anybody know what they mean by that??? My 500s make that same clunking sound. Probably not quite as pronounced as the big bores. But, it's there when you let up and a bit when you start. If you don't want to hear it, just pin the throttle on launch...

see blacksheep, you catch on fast lol. basicly theres alot of noises on alot of wheelers when your playing in the hard stuff so its hard to hear them. i listen closely when im on the good ground or going slow.

 

My '06 450 has the oil pump knock and sometimes it has the pull start rattle, but I have never noticed the driveline clunk. Did I get cheated? I also have various other unknown rattles at times that kinda make up for the lack of clunk.

 

No, As long as you have the oil pump knock you didn't get cheated.

 

theres alot of moving parts on these polaris's. Your kind of just playing your odds.

 

I was really glad to read this! I have owned my 05 700 EFI for a couple of months now and I was thinking that something was wrong in the tranny. I'm glad to hear it is normal. My 02 500 doesn't do it so thats why I figured something was wrong with this one.

 

My 08 800 does this as well and I cannot stand it....
