scroll thru the menu to find the hrs(has a little hr glass on the left side of screen) and see what it has for a number. if it says 0 then that swhat the problem is. you need to go in and reset it to 50 hrs like it was from the factory.

 

I have the samething on my sportsman 450 right. All it means its time for its routine maintence. If you do your own maintence there is a way to reset the hours. I have the maintence manual to find out how. If you need that info let me know.

 

Mine is flashing too (5 times when I turn the key) then shuts off. I got the dealership to change the oil etc 2 weeks ago. So how do I shut this thing off. 2004 SP600

To get into Diagnostic mode:

1. Turn key off and then wait 10 sec.
2. Set park brake and shift the trans. to neutral.
3. Hold the mode/rev. override button and turn key switch on.
4. Relese the switch as soon as the display is activated.


Then use the mode/rev. button to change through the screens!!...

Screen 1. Barrery voltage....
screen 2 Tach
Screen 3. AWD
screen 4. Gear circuit
screen 5. Programmable service interval...............This is what you need!!!!!
To set the hours press and hold the mode/rev. override button until the wrench icon flashes, When it starts to flash release the button .The setting will change by one hour each time the button is pushed.Press and hold the numbers will increase much faster. Hope this helps.
Screen 6. Miles/Kilometers (change if needed, Canada uses Kilometers here)

ALSO NOTE>>>> If you want the service reminder turned off and not flash every 50 hours or so, Press and hold the mode button for app. 7 sec. until the word "OFF" appears in the Rider info Center!!!!........

not to take over the thread or anything, but on my '03 sp 700 you don't need to go into the diagnostic mode to reset the hours. I just have to toggle through until I get to the hours and then just hold the button. it'll go to off and then if I push and hold the button again it'll start counting up the hours. after I get to ever how many hours I want I just let go of the button and it'll set after about 10 or so seconds. did they change it after '03?

 

Do you(embler) have your service hours listed with the push of the Toggle(mode/rev. override button)

I can not see my service hours when I just toggle through my Yellow button....My just shows
1 tach
2.odometer
3.trip meter
4.RPM
5.Total Hours on Quad.....

 

mine has odometer, trip, total hours and service hours. when in diagnostic mode it shows voltage, tach and it looks like it says oil pressure although it doesn't do anything. also shows version 1.8 before it shows anything else..
I guess they changed them on the later models.
