03 predator 500...help
#1
i just got a 2003 predator 500 a couple days ago and rode it today for the first time in the dunes and notice that when i shifted from second to third gear it instantly bogged down and didnt have any power, then after about 5-8 seconds it will finally wind up and will run great and have tremendous power.
i had a tough time climbing hills because in 2nd gear it was revved verry high by the time i hit the top and in third it would bearly make it up because it was bogged down so low.
can anyone help me? is this normal?

Sounds like you're a little too fat on the needle, possibly the main jet too.
Raise the clip on the needle one position (lowers the needle) and see what happens from there. If it starts clearing it up but not quite, you have one more position to go. If it runs great at wide open throttle, your main jet may be ok, but you may consider dropping the jet one size and keeping the needle where it is. Since I haven't ridden it I can't tell how much it's bogging and where in the RPM. But don't overlook the obvious things like a clean airfilter...
