Default Spark plug wire problems/question

I am trying to change plugs on my sportsman and have run into a snag. I did not get the tool kit along with the bike when I bought it used. I am trying to figure out how to remove the left hand plug boot (as you sit on it)? I cannot seem to get it to pop out no matter how hard I try. Has anyone got a manual for a 2003 sportsman 600 twin that could help me out? I called the local dealer and they quoted me $35 for a single wire/boot combo. Thanks for the help!

sounds like it may have some mud around it inside the head that's dried up causing it to cement itself in. it should just pull right off the plug though. I go in from the right side to get to mine. its a tight fit for sure. just pinch the boot as hard as you can and pull and wiggle at the same time.
