Default 800 X2 1st oil change

You should be able to open the box and see the check valve on the filter right?

On my SP500 I have been using the Fram CPH6607 which is not fram's top of the line for sure, I wonder if it has a cheak valve?

Default 800 X2 1st oil change

I'm not sure about the check valve but the experts from the other site said to use this combination. I am going to change the oil again soon. I will take note if I see something. I do know I have a ticking noise at idle only that started right after break in. I am going to see if I can get the dealer to adjust the valves. I would like to get something out of my 4.5 year warrenty. That will be soon too. Anyone else have a ticking noise at idle on a 07 800 X2? Otherwise she runs and rides great.<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Originally posted by: jampg

Your ticking noise sounds like its from the oil pump,it,s normal with Polaris oil pumps. Put a broom stick from your oil pump to your ear and you will really hear it tick.

I have a tapping sound coming from the right side of the engine, started after the first few hours of the engines life. It is barely audible when the engine is cold (first started) and gets louder as the engine fully warms. Seems to do it only at idle. I sure hope it's normal, I was thinking of riding it to the dealer to have them listen to it before I get to 20 hours.

Mine has a lot of rattles and noise, I ask also on different forms, Was told it's normal. When my 20 hours was up I took it into the dealer and ask them bout it, they said it was normal. There are 3 500 and one 800 in 1/2 mile of me and they all make noise, I wouldn't worry to much bout it but do ask whey you take it in,, Can't hurt,,
Does make ya wonder tho, huh?

They don't list the PL4610 for ATV use, but since some of you are using it, I'm sure it works. HERE is the list of vehicle it is spec'd for. Looks like its used on everything from small high-revving 4 cylinder engines to large V-8s. If it works safely on those I'm sure it will be more than sufficient for a Polaris twin.

I changed my oil in my 03 sp 700 recently. I used the puralator filter and mobil 1 0w40 oil also. I've put about 60 miles on it since with no problems. mine has the loud ticking also and I took it to the dealer to listen to it as I too thought it might be the valves. they said it was normal and everything sounded good. beware fram filters. I've had them explode before. also from what I've heard, walmart sells sub-par stuff. its basically the leftovers from the manufacturer. that's why they can sell it so cheap. again this is maybe just intrenet myth.

Mornin sheepdogMSP8117
It's PL14610 not PL4610 and your right, it's not listed for the Polaris.
Will this help??
