I have a 1999 Polaris Magnum 500 and I am considering a Supertrapp IDS II exhaust. Has anyone tried this exhaust and does it give a noticeable increase in power for $300? I was also wondering how loud it is over the stock exhaust? I am also wondering about a clutch kit? My friend put one in his and it engages HARD. Does anyone make a clutch kit that engages soft but improves low and mid acceleration? I would also be interested in hearing about any other mods anyone has done that work well.

1999 Magnum 500 4x4
front tube bumper, horn, AM/FM cassette stereo, rear cargo box, back rest, winch, reverse light, coolant temp gauge, hand guards, hand warmers, blue headlight bulb, fender bag, 12" 8-spoke wheels, Spider Tracs, highlifter lift kit.

I have a Supertrapp exhaust on my Magnum. I noticed a gain in low-end torque, but seem to have lost some top end speed. I have also replaced 4 headpipes due to cracking. Supertrapp has replaced them free of charge, and claim to have the problem fixed although they haven't returned my last 2 emails. The new exhaust is definately louder, but I really don't think is that bad. As for the clutch, I am looking into changing the belt, and adding a roller clutch. I have not found a definate supplier for the roller clutch for EBS systems, although I have heard that Hot Seat makes one. Hope this helps!

thmupr500,
thanks for the info. Sucks to hear about the headpipe on a $300 exhaust! Makes me have second thoughts about the supertrapp. Not many other companies making exhausts for the Magnum though. The roller clutch is definitely an option if it becomes available for the EBS. Still wondering about other clutch kits though? Does White Bros make an exhaust for the Magnum?
