Go on a diet! lol
There isn't much you can do to reduce weight without much money.
If you haven't tried changing the primary clutch spring, I recommend that, as it only costs $15 to $20 and a little time to do. The most popular choices are white and green. Green gives a little more kick than white. This is factory colors, some different mfgs. may have different specs for their colors.

If you don't mind yanking the pull-cord every time you go riding, remove your battery, battery tray, starter, and all the wiring you don't need for it to run(electric start, etc). That oughta shed a few pounds. You could also remove the floor boards, put pegs on from another quad(yammie, honda), and remove all your mudflaps. Of course, you could also take your chain guard off, too, butI don't recommend it.....

how hard is it to do the footpegs? i would do it if i could change back to stock when it came time to sell my piggy known as the trailblazer. i would say just bite the bullet and get the $15,000
aluminum frame. this thing is loaded with high tech features like dual front a-arms, all aluminum, bet it even has a removable sub-frame! if you did that, put a 400 engine in it, and ditched the magic button you could have a banshee eater! 36 hp stock doesnt fell very fast on a 550 lb. machine! the banshee only has 3 more ponies! if you got the frame, i think you could get the weight down to about 350 lbs!

FTR is coming out with a tubulalr chromoly frame by this summer.(about 2500$) It is supposed to save at least 50 lbs. They are also working on front double-A-arm suspension and maybe even ones for the 4x4 model! They sounded very encouraging but on the other hand I have heard negative things about this company in the past from customers... wait and see!
