Default 04 700 dead on the trail

I had just bought a2004 700efi sportsman. 3 day's later we went to kentucky to ride. About an hour or so into the ride it died. It was acting like it ran out of gas. You could let it set for about 30 min. and it would start and run fine for about another hour. Do any of you have a clue what could be wrong ?

read my other posts... like "polaris gurus help" I changed my filter... still no dice... now i am gonna try the pump... please descripb the issue in a little more detail... maby if we work together we can both figure out what these 4 wheeled junks are doing. My dosent compleatly stall.... just runns terrable... i let it cool the start it up it runs fine for a few more minutes... then the crap again... if i start it and let it warm up it has the problem right from the start so it is heat related...

mine act's like it just runs out of gas. I havent hade time to check the vent tube yet. (thanks for the tip on that. deanz400). what really p's me off is when you call the dealer and they wont help you at all unless you bring it in$$$$ they said they have never heard of this problem. maybe someone should turn them on to this site. sounds like it's a common thing with all polaris. if you are going to try a fuel pump. you might want to check the auto parts store. i hear you can cross refrence the #'s and it will fit. because if you get one from the dealer you have to buy the tank and every thing.$$$$. let me know if you have any luck

do you hear the fuel pump running when you turn the key on when you tried to start it? check to see if fuel is flowing.
