Just picked up my new sp 500. I was going to get a winch and bumper from the dealer, but they were going to rape me on the winch so I decided to wait. I found on on line for $184.00 less than the dealer.

My question is about the brush gaurd they are selling. I am wondering if any one has ever used one or if they think it would be any good?

Should I go with this or does anyone have something they would reccomend?

Also, I have heard a couple people mention a quick connector for a winch that is avaible in the polaris catalouge. I could not find it online. Does anyone have any info on this?

It looks like a good brush guard/winch mount in the picture, if it's heavy enough. The bumpers for my SP at the dealer were $60 each. They are wider (almost out to edge of the wheels) but don't have the expanded metal protection on the front. Also the one at atv parts looks like a more secure mounting.
Good Luck.

Check out the Polaris brand brush guard at the link below. Looks pretty nice. I have one on order right now.

The brush guard up at the top looks nice. I to am planning on buying the new polaris brush guard. My
problem is that I do have the 2 bar front bumper and my main problem is that I have a 2000lb. winch
and its the wrong model. This means I will need to
buy the specific 2000 lb. winch that fits the brush guard. I will then want to sell both or either my old 2 bar bumper and my winch. Either brush guard looks good to me. Polaris wants a lot of doe for the winch, so I plan to look around for
better prices. I don't mind the cost of the bumper. I expect to get a 10 percent discount on it. I plan to do this in early spring.

I bought the Polaris Brush Guard that DesertSporstman gave a link for. I got two of them for $253 OTD. I think they are great. They look mean and are very functional. I bought them for looks, but mainly for the added protection afforded the headlights. Every time I went riding, I had to adjust the headlights because the brush was hitting them and they would be pointing towards the left and right rather than towards where I was going. Needless to say, I have been very happy with them!

You don,t need to replace the winch just the mounting bracket.

Glad to hear you like your new brush guard(s). I currently have one on order for my SP 6x6, although if I really like it I may swap it with the tube bumper/winch on my RSE. I agree about the low beam protection. No protection is what’s kept me from getting rid of those wimpy 27 watt low beams and mounting some nice bright PIAA white fog lights in their place. Well, that and the outrageous cost of the PIAA lights.

I’ll be using that bumper with a plow but I use the winch to raise and lower the blade so I don’t know if it would interfere with the mechanical lift. The dealer’s different winch numbers are actually different winch “kit” numbers all containing the same winch. All that’s needed to swap winches from bumper to bumper is the correct mounting plate. If you really want to part with your used winch let me know.
