IMHO, the problems hit the guys that rode their Hawkeyes like someone else owned them or at least thats what thier posts indicated.

I dont think there was recall for any frame problems, only for the front steering stems and front spindle assemblys and the airbox mod, Hey ive thrashed our Hawkeye and its still in good shape, And ive put some serious Hurt on the little Hawkeye like holding it wide open for a mile or so, or jumping it high, But what Man Makes will break the weakness in these hawkeyes were the frame mounting tabs for the a-arms- i hope they changed those weak cv shafts cause they are gonna snap under the 450 power.

Hate to treat you like the "Lab Rat", but I think there is big interest in how this bike turns out. Please keep us posted.

there's a lot of people that run atv's to the ground and expect to get compensated for their abuse to the quad. there's a limit to all things. the quad is not a race quad. its not for jumping. it's made to have all four wheels on the ground all the time and to follow a trail in a safe and sane enjoyable way. i've never abuse any of all my toys. dirt bikes, atv's and jet ski's. they all look show room as the day i've bought them.

I go everwhere most other posters do, except for mud. Not my thing. Everybody does it their way, so be it. I've never broken anything or had to walk home, YET.

I prefer the trail riding and the remoter, the better. I've seen Rickys riding on "YOU TUBE" and it looks like they're having fun, but its not for me.

i agree w/ LA90043 to a point, but however when you ride agressively like we do (not really abusing) but hamming thru the rough trails and going thru good mud the bike better be made good enough to take it @ the cost we pay for these bikes. my self ive always love going off roading since i was a kid and use to do it in the pickupa nd jeeps but find its funner, cheaper and can go more places. so hence i dont put my $30,000 pick up thru the woods instead will beat on the little bike instead. the mfg. know what consumers do w/ their products, so they should build in them some degree on toughness. i think they al do a fairly good job doing it. as far as jumping an 7 to 800 lb bike (w/out rider and gear) it wont take the stress on the continuning pounding of all that weight coming down b4 something lets go.

i bought a 06 hawkeye. it was in the shop four times between carb issues & recall. worst bike i ever owned, however i did like the size it was great for putting through the woods w/out trails could squeeze through just about anything. be careful w/ your rims they bend pretty easy & unlike some say i didnt beat it. i rode it but definitely didnt abuse it. put 300 miles on it in 7 months and traded it for a stealth 500. i love this bike wish i would have bought it in the beginning
