Default Oil Weight?

Can I run other weight oil without damaging the motor? I live in a mild climate which ranges from 40F to 85F.

If you go to a heavier oil or a conventional oil the top end may starve for oil as they are a low pressure oil system. Especially in cold climates

I'd stick with the 0W-40, and also stay Synthetic, but switch brands if you'd like. I'm currently using Amsoil FFS 0W-40.

it only takes about 2 qts of oil and you dont change it that often. some use mobil 1 and others use amsoil or just buy the polaris. either way use the what it calls for for sure.

Polaris went with the 0w40 back in the mid 90s due to topend oil problems.this is eliminated with the 0w40 synthetic. So best to stay with it.
