I was crawling around in a pretty deep wash out yesterday and I don't know exactly how it happended but I broke the CV Joint on the front left of my 2000 Sportsman 500. is was on a down hill and the front left was on the lowest side I thnk it got wedged to where it wouldn't turn. Anyways Does anyboy know the best way to take it apart to fix it. Also all of the parts manuals I can find do not show the inside of the cv joint. How do you buy these and where?

 

you buy it as a cv joint assembly not seprate parts. which one is it inside or outside(wheel side)?

 

How do I tell if it is the inside or outside? there is a U joint where it comes out of the front diff then there is a shaft down to the broken CV joint which is covered by the boot then it goes into the hub after that. I know that prob. is pretty confusing sorry. Also do the assemblies come together or is the parts to rebuild it?

 

bad me i didnt see what year yours was. it only has the outside(wheelside) cv joint which you still buy as a unit. look up the "cv man" on the net or even ebay and he can set you up i beleave if you dont want to buy a polaris one.
