oil in air box

Default oil in air box

I went ridding this past weekend and after i finished the ride i noticed oil at the bottom of my air box what can this be from and is it a easy fix need help thank for any info that you can offer........ ps its a 2003 sportsman 600 twin

Default oil in air box

Nothing to fix,it gathers from tipping over and even from steep hill climbs and descents. There is even a tube with a red T plug to drain it if you look under the air box. It happens.

how much oil, a couple of drops or alot. also too much crank pressure will push out oil as well. just a thought.

thanks you guys eazied my mind, all the things you said with the step inclines and declienes are exactly what was riding that day

what can i do to relief the crank pressure or can i even do that?, it was enough to notice, but not a huge amount of oil, any other sugestion????? i thought maybe blow -bi's or engine may be going bad, but i hope not, it dosent smoke or leak in other places. any info helps out a bunch.. thakns for your help.

A lot of the time, if the oil level is too high, crankcase pressure blows a little oil out of the breather and into the airbox.
