2006 Hawkeye on Tracks
Snowed about 4" last night so finally got to do it seriously. YaHoooo! Put 22 miles on in hilly bush trails and performed great. Top end on GPS was 30 mph (lost about 30%), but the climbing and steep crawling was better than I hoped for. The AWD is like power steering but can cause you to flex your biceps when it bites in. Ran most in 2wd until steep hills as that's all I needed.
The anti rotation brackets that I built seemed to do the job, but I won't brag until the snow melts off and I can inspect and tighten everything. However, I do need to find a way to get a little more clearance at the front of the rear tracks as they occasionally hit the floor supports when they rotate, but nothing serious. Any ideas???
Next time, I'll get some photos.
