Default melting tail lights

Has anyone had their tail lights melt down? The lenses on both of our 06 500 EFI have bubbled up and on one of them the socket has been so hot taht it has a hole melted through the housing. Of course I got laughed at when I asked at the dealer if our extended warranty would cover them. Its pretty bizarre to that the right hand housing is way more expensive than the left. Does anyone know if there is a lower wattage bulb that we can run in these so I don't end up melting down the new ones that I have ordered?

I had the same thing happen to my 500. I took it back to my dealer and they replaced them no charge, it seem's to be common. You can now buy led light's that are lower wattage, go to bluhm enterprise's website and look for polaris bulbs. Hop this helps, If you have a good dealer they should replace those lenses, free.
