I can get her up to about 55 without a problem.
I pushed her to 60 on a flat rd once before but didnt really feel comfortable doing it.

The fastest I've gone was 57 on the speedo before I ran out of straight trail. I've got to get it out on a big lake someday. I got my flexible flyer sled up to about 80 one time... It felt like it anyway.

65 mph per speedo on fairly level gravel road with tailwind.</end quote></div>
What do you have done to your X2 to get 65mph? All the 500s I know of are max out at 55mph. or are you talking about an 800 X2?

A note to add to my top speed is that it didn't feel like it had more than a mile or two per hour to go.

My 500 X2 is stock. This was on a gravel road and, as noted before, I had a pretty good tail wind, maybe as much as 30 or 40 mph. I'm not saying it will consistently do that, in fact, I'm almost certain it won't, but it did that one day. That's the only time I've ever wound it up like that. It's too fast for me on an ATV.
On edit, I forgot to mention that that episode occurred before a trip last September during which I discovered that the Polaris odometer was considerably off (the Honda riding with me was nearly dead on). Tires were stock. It's been my experience - at least with other vehicles - that when the odo is wrong, so is the speedo, so in reality, I wasn't going the indicated 65.

I agree, lets face it 5lb psi balloon tires were never meant to handle well at high speeds, they where designed for extreme off road conditions.
When I hit 55mph on my ATV on a gravel road the bike feels like its drifting with two hands graping the bars tight. On my sled I can hit 65mph and feel more comfortable even with only one hand on the handle bar.
What I like about my 500 over my 450 Foreman Honda was it was not just 7mph faster but on long straight inclines it did not bleed off the speed while the 450 needed two down shifts and lost 10 mph on the same incline.

Had mine to somewhere between 55-60 according to the speedo on a flat dirt road. On the Touring it did not feel unstable at all, in fact it felt better then my old 450 bike on the freeway.....that was scary around trucks.
