Default Just bought a 2008 outlaw 525, have ???

Hello everyone, I have been lurking around here for a while so I decided it's time to post. I bought a 08' outlaw 525 a month ago and I have to say I LOVE this machine. Now of course this bad boy is in need of some mods. I'm going to wait untill it's broke-in alittle more but was thinking K&N, JD jetting, and a pipe. My question is are the JD kits worth the money? And what pipe should I go with? Thanks in advance.

The best option for the KTM 510 cc RFS engine in the Outlaw 525 is hands down the JD Jet kit. Besides the fact that they are wicked lean coming out of the factory, JD's needles and o-ring mod that comes with the kit really wakes up the 525 and eliminates any bog when stabbing the throttle. I would get the JD kit immediately before running the engine any more in its lean state.

Is it the 525IRS or the 525S?

Do a web search on the outlaw 525. Many think that it is one of few quads that do not need piped to gain performance. Most 4 strokes need piped to release more power.

Jeff with TireBalls did a test and review. He races KTM bikes. He stated the very same thing. The JD kit wakes up the bike. The jetting is set to pass emissions. It is a race bike.period. I tested one with and without the jet and it is a scary difference.

Mine has not been started yet. I have installed the JD kit, K N Filter and I am waitng on my EHS Lid Mod. That is the only perf mods I am going to do. You already got over 50 hp at the cranck, how much more you want. Use the pipe money and order some good tires. LOL
