Well there you have it, my dealer doesn't know what he's talking about. These winches are obviously not WARN! As SPUDRACER did, request only a WARN be put on your New Bike! A lesson well learned and I'll make sure not to fall into this trap on my next Quad.

While we are talking winches. Whats the diference between the rt 2500 warn and the xt 2500 warn?

 

Have any of you guys that use your winches a lot had any experience with the Ramsey ATV winch? I had a Ramsey on a jeep and later on a Bronco and they were very good winches. Have not been a big fan of the Warn winch so if I have to replace the Warn-Polaris or whatever it is on 500 would probably take a long look at the Ramsey.

 

Use the Polaris mounting plate but go out and buy your own choice of winch. I bought a Battery at Walmart for $35 and the Polaris dealer wanted $70! LOL

Personally I bought a 2000 lb rated winch for 80 bucks from Tractor Supply. Its made by Champion and has been a great winch so far.

I have never owned a Ramsey but have read some VERY good things about them. Also, I think they were the first Mfg to offer a wireless remote which I think is a neat idea.

Your dealer lied to you.Look on the box,,,Thier made in CHINA
I'v had nothing but problems with mine,and as soon as I get to my dealer I'm telling him I want my warn 3000 back.
He talked me into the 3.5 polaris winch saying how great it was...
Loud ,freespools when you dont want it to,then wont freespool when you want it to

 

The Warn RT has a steel rope the Warn XT has a synthetic rope.
