hello, i just recently bought a 2003 pred 500. I dont want to spend the 200+ for someone else to change the fluids. But for the life of me i cant find the oil filter and i dont have the manual. SOMEONE HELP!!

It is on the right bottom side of the engine right in front of the rear brake pedal held on by 3 bolts. If you go to a Polaris dealer and buy the oil change kit it has the filter, 2 qts of oil, new o-rings and new drain plug with step by step instructions and torque specs. After that you can just buy the oil and filter and keep the o-rings and drain plug in case the original ones go bad.

If you go here. Polaris web page and look under the riders tab, it has a place where you can download a manual for your quad.

Edit: It is not the cover where the radiator hose goes into, but behind it towards the brake pedal

 

Go to this website and go down to the Polaris section. You should be able to download the service manual for free.
