Default Lock and Ride Rear rack box evaluation.

I don't know if anyone else has this box but I thought I'd give you all my impressions of it.

1. I was a little warey of loading it down and having it only attach in 2 locations but loaded up with tools cooler full of beer and ice, i was very pleased that it stayed put not even a single bit of flop.
2. It seals very well. After pressure washing the mud off not a bit of water got in.
3. Its well contoured even without the back rest. G/F has yet to give her toughts though.
4. The price wasn't bad. I got it through my dealer and was surprised that they had the best price on it.
5. Has groves inside for dividers, I think it should have come with them, but i made my own out of 1/4" plywood.
6. The mounting screws for the cam mechanism have threaded inserts and are adjustable. I did red lock tight them before i installed them.

My impressions are the same. I don't think you can go wrong with the lock and ride system. I have the L & R Windshield also.

Here is the link. I have just the box no backrest or bags. I payed $179 at my local dealer. I think i got 10% off since i bought the quad there. I avoided paying shipping too. http://www.ronniesmailorder.co...CK__RIDE_CARGO_BOX.htm

that box is HUGE!

I opted for the soft bag when I owned the regular Sportsman(non-XP). The soft bag held a ton of junk and made for a VERY nice SOFT backrest when I had a passenger.

Also. in tight woods riding a big box would get hung-up against a tree if the ATV was at a slight angle, the soft bag will smudge aginst the tree and just barely pass by......a box won't.

I guess if all your riding is in big open fields and wide trail riding the big box would work just great.

Try tightening the bolt that goes through the rubber grommet. Mine were loose at first and i couldn't get it tight. I snugged the nut till the grommet just slides in with a little push. As for the leak make sure there is not too much stuff in the box and the lid is tight. Those latches have a little stretch to them.
