SP 800 noise from driveline
#1
I took my new SP 800 out for its maiden voyage. Well more like a cruise around the back roads here. It was an unusually warm day (for January in Minnesota) 37 degrees. I noticed the noise when gradually slowing down from almost any speed. It sounded like a loud clunking coming from the clutch area. Is this something to be concerned over? or is it just the new clutch and belt wearing in? I have tomorrow off and just may take it back to the dealer.
The first time out was great. Ended up at about 24 miles when it was all done. I'm going to like this machine!

Driveline noise is the norm in sportsman machines. This is due to slack in the drivetrain and also to the EBS. If tou do a search in the forum here it will come up rather often.

welcome to the famous drive line noise. its the back lash noise your hearing when you let off or starting off it sounds like a mechanical clunk. call them up and ask them to make your self feel better if you like as it doesnt hurt to be sure.

yeah just don't take it to a dealer you didn't buy it from to check it out......cost me 86 bucks to hear "it's normal"....
I can turn mine off in gear and let it coast down a hill and it does it. Mine is the clutches disengaging from what I can. I do not have EBS/ADC.
Enjoy the new ride!!!

Thanks guys. I have never heard this noise before on any machine I have been on. Maybe I was not listening for it, or am just paying more attention because it is mine and new.
