Default Extended Warranty

My 07 Sportsman 500 X2 is just about 6 months old. I received a offer in the mail the other day for a 2-5 year extended warranty called Polaristar Protection Plus.
Is this a legitimate offer from Polaris? It appears that it comes from the Polaris Warranty Department in Golden Colorado, the return envelope is addressed to TWG Innovative Solutions Kansas City MO.

Anybody have any experience with this warranty. Has it been positive or negative? The price actually seems reasonable.

I got the same thing in the mail. I do believe that Polaristar is the name of the coverage.

I bought it cheap as part of my deal when I bought the bike. It saved my butt, not a big fan but this time it worked for me.

Read Bone head Move on this site. Warranty rebuilt my moter for 50 bucks.

i would say that you should have gotton it by now. contact your dealer or polaris and ask if you can still buy an extended warranty.

Default Extended Warranty

I don't know about Polaris but when my brother bought a 2004 Honda TRX350 Rancher 4x4 the Dealer offered him and extended warranty which he declined , and just before the factory warranty ran out he got a letter from Honda for an extended warranty for less that 1 third what the Dealer offered ; he bought a 2007 Honda VR 1300 twin cylinder Honda motorcyle and the Dealer tried to sell him an extended warranty on it also !

The atv was bought at the local Honda Dealership and the motorcyle was from Sourthern Honda of TN they tried to get him to buy the extended warranty at a jacked up price at both Dealership's , and my brother told the Southern Honda Dealer he would wait untill Honda sent him a letter for extended warranty for less than the Dealer wanted ; and the Dealer told my brother Honda didn't sell the extended warranty and that the Dealer was the only one who could sell the extended warranty !

My brother told the Dealer he was full of it , and told him about getting a letter from Honda offering him the extended warranty for 1 third of what the Dealer wanted on the Rancher ; the Dealer told him he would regret not buying it from them but he got a letter from Honda shortly before the factory warranty ran out for 1 third what the Dealer wanted and he bought it just like he did on the Rancher !

You have to watch these Dealer's with their own extended warranty plan's , they will stick it to you if you don't watch out ; just wait for the manufacturer to offer the warranty they are alway's cheaper and a better deal in the end !......

keep in mind though that the warranty purchased later may not cover as much as the warranty sold by the dealer - some do some dont.

You may be right brutus but the local Honda Dealer that my brother bought his Rancher from , sold out to Pye Honda of GA and TN over 3 yrs. ago Pye sell's Honda Auto's as well and combinded all local Honda Motors Dealership's into one company in the town we live in , so the Extended Warranty the Original Dealership sold their customer's ; may not be worth the paper it's printed on !

That's just food for thought , they may be covered under Pye Honda if they choose to honor it ; i worked for Pye Dodge in the early 70's when the musle Car's were king and now Pye owns Honda , Nisson , Toyota and Suzuki Auto Sales !

Pye dropped the Dodge but picked up the Import's , and they're just like the old Honda Cycle and marine Dealer was on price's ; not one penney under MSRP !

They don't have Suzuki , Yamaha and Kawasaki Cycle and Marine yet but i wouldn't bet again't them aquiring them before long if they want them !........

THats definately another concern when you buy a warranty - warranties are usually transferable to another dealer as the warranty is ultimately decided and paid for by the manufacturer not the dealer. These are examples of why you NEED to read what you are buying and ask all these "what if" senarios

GOOD POINT Willibee
