I was wondering if there are any after market tie rod end with greese zerks? I have replaced 2 rubber boots within 6 mos. now the teflon is gone.
Would the 'old style' ends work on the Xped?
Polaris part # 7061054 (tie rod end only) is 28.24 @ my dealer( Who seems to know far less about Polaris than you guys).
Help.

The old style ends work, for a month if you're lucky.

I still have the same ends but I grease them every other ride even if I leave the rest of the fitting alone because I know they have a bad rep and need the extra TLC. After 3 years it seems to be working for me.

Are the rod end Heim joints the same for Xped, Mag and the SP? I ask because very few companies have the Xpedition listed in their catalogs but all list Mag and SP parts.

bubba,
You can get rod ends from a bearing supplier(such as Motion Industries) the only modification you will have to do is make/buy a bushing to reduce the hole size. They come with 1/2 threads and a 1/2 hole. Theswe are "heim joint" style where the bolt goes all the way thru. Do a search for tie rod ends, there was a topic called "tie rod ends...a fix on the way" where several of us were doing the same thing and comparing notes.
hope this helps
