scrammy starter not working?
#11
Im not going to test it at all,I have a 5 year warranty on it and dealer told me(after checking with Polaris) that starter, solenoid or any similar electrical causing starter failure will likely be covered so let them fix it.
but the parts tech on the phone said it sounds like a solenoid from what i explained...let them test it and fix it for free!!!!
thanks for all the input, though!Ilet you all know the outcome when i get it back

i would think it is the solonoid just because it is alot cheaper and i don't like to spend money alott cuz i don't have a constant job being 14. and my solonoid whent more than my starter did and i never heard a starter click before i just had it stop or grind or spin freely.

It was the solenoid, they fixed it with my 50 dollar deductible.
It took this long because it was there for a week-the service manager was on va cation and had to put the paperwork through when he got back.

A New Polaris Solenoid is $32 and takes 15 minutes to change.

labor on their sheet is 1 hr @ $80,not to mention they also bled my brakes and rewired my winch with an inline fuse...so it was worth it because I still wasnt sure it was the solenoid.
Besides, when I do side work(carpentry) I make more than they charge me an hour so I can be doing other things than fiddling around with my broken bike.

Yes, $80 per hr shop time. The mech gets $10-15.
