By the look of Stendori's quad (twisted seat and lots of dirt up in the frame) it looks like he tried......and didn't quite make it

BINGO lol that was my 99' sportsman 335 and i went down the hill and hit a berm near the bottom and she flipped end for end. only cost me about $100. to fix the damage replacing parts and i bent the rest back. like it says too steep lol.

Me,i do not climb too much. Tried with my 2007 PoPo 700 and did not work out. I tried going real slow sitting on the gas cap, and rezults were 2 black eyes and 2 inch cut on inside and outside of lower jaw.(WITH A HELMET) the next week the youngsters showed me how to climb the same hill faster and standing up/forward looked easy when they done it (:<

yep....that's steep!! I've seen some people really climb some steep stuff and they always stand up......I figured it was because they could eject quicker!!!!! ha ha
I've had my old EX400 Honder up some steep stuff but it was more "nail it and hold on" climbs. I'm still amazed at the torque these utilities have and I'd say if you can keep the front wheels on the ground they'd bout climb anything!

If I'm going up something really steep I try to have someone there to grab the front rack if the front end begins to lift. No, they might not be able to hold stop it if it decides to go over but I'm hoping it will give me enough time to bail off the machine.
The problem with an ATV compared to say a dirt bike, is the issue of weight and how that weight is going to impact on you. If you have an ATV flip over on you you're going to be in a perfect position to snap your spine. A several hundred pound ATV crashing down on top of you while you're in a riding position is going to have a very high chance of breaking your back and paralyzing or killing you.
The most devastating ATV accidents I have witnessed were ATVs flipping over backwards. Riders carrying passengers were a major factor in these. One resulted in a death and the other resulted in a man's wife being paralyzed from the neck down.

the thing alot of people dont understand that is these have a very high center of gravity and are very easy to tip over either sideways or backwards. alot of poundage w/ bike and rider, so these bikes arent the best for tranversing any hills that are steep in wither ways. like mine was lol.
