Sheessh, my wifes '03 Trail boss has the coldest blood I've ever seen in an ATV! I drilled the pilot adj plug out last week and adjusted it between 2 (factory) and 2.5 out. Didn't do any good as far as being cold natured and the carb on that thing is one SOB to get to. Polaris engineers ought to be castrated!!

OK, I'm cool with the jet kit.

How tough is this to do?

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Both of mine will start and run without the choke unless its real cold out, polaris sent out a service bulletin a few years ago , thats what started me checking it , from what I see theres a problem somewhere. </end quote></div>

I guess if you did not need use the choke in the cold weather than it would be pointless to have a choke on the ATV in the first place.

I think, its not good to run any 4 stroke ATV or Snowmobile for that matter, until the motor oil is warmed up, I,m still a little confused how a EFI warms its oil up faster someway.

You can start a carb machine right up in the winter snow and take right off with half choke, but it just can,t be good for the motor until the oil is warmed up,EFI or Carb.

The 4 stroke trail boss is notorious for being cold natured. Once it's warmed up, they will run fine.

My Scrambler never needed more than half choke on the coldest days and always got a good warm up before use. My EFI starts great and gets a lot longer warmup cause I like it more

You are correct, it runs great after a 8-10 minute warmup.
