Warn or Glacier plow
#3
hey i just bought new x2 with glacier set up and so far am not very impressed. The first night out I wore through there round skid plates and was on the plow wear bar only after3 hours of plowing. Then there is the problem with the plow getting knocked off the quick mount setup if you hit a big sidewalk crack at times. Also if you backup and the plow catches something its on the ground again. I had cycle counrty setup before with manual lift and liked this over what I got now. also have problem with polaris winch not wanting to work sometimes..

I have owned 3 different plows over the years. A few Moose, a few Glacier1's, and now a Glacier2.
BY FAR the best is the Moose! (I do not have experience with Warn)
Here is the FATAL FLAW with the Glacier2. The bottom plate is damn CHEAP and flexes downward. This sends the two bolts foward of the radiator dangerously close and INTO the radiator! It almost cost me a new one but I read the posts from other G2 owners warning of this and caught it in time.
With the G2 all you have to do is MODESTLY bump into a formed snowbank and the bottom plate starts to bend. MODESTLY bump the snowbank off-camber, not head-on, and you will turn it into a pretzel!
Currently, I am trying to have a local welder re-inforce my new plate.(couldn't save the old one). Once it's complete, I will give it another try. If the samething happens OR another failure occurs, I will remove it, toss it in the dumpster, and look for a Moose/ Warn or something equivalent.
The thing I DO like about the G2 is the ease of install and removal! It's a cinch! Literally takes 5 seconds to install or remove!
I have never had mine pop-off while snowplowing. Check to be sure BOTH sides are "clicked" in place before plowing. Give it the wiggle test while it's up.
Yes, the cutting edge wears-out fast.

mt, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the ease with which the RMS Moose is connected/disconnected; it couldn't be any easier.

I've got the Polaris plow made by Cycle Country on my old 95 Magnum and it really seems to work well. I can even move dirt and gravel around with it. I use the manual lift since it gives me a little better "feel" on my gravel drive.
The only bad part is having to crawl under the ATV to insert the pins to mount it. While this isn't exactly difficult crawling around on a cold wet muddy garage floor before you plow is sort of a pain. Also occasionally you can have a bear of a time getting the holes and tabs to line up if you're not on top of it just right. Getting it back off you can usually do by just reaching under if you positioned the pins just right but to put it on really requires crawling around on the ground.
Cycle Country makes a quick connect/disconnect for this style now which I'm wanting to try.

I would love to see a pic of how that plow mounts.
