'96-400 Carb on '00-250?
#2
I believe that it would fit. The only prob that you might have would be on the intake where the carb goes in. It's probably gonna be a lot smaller hole than your carb. You might be able to get it to fit. If not you'll have to get a new intake boot. As long as there isn't a huge difference in the carb sizes it should work. I changed the carb on my atc and went from a 30mm to a 39mm. It didn't fit. I used a piece of radiator hose to put over the boot and the carb for the time being. It works, but I went ahead and ordered another intake for my bike.

Another question would be if anyone thinks this would be worth doing. I'm assuming this is a 34mm carb. The only info. I know for sure is it is from a '96 - 400 and has these numbers on it:
T5
X2
38l
030
Besides sucking more gas, would a 34 give me extra power versus the 30? Or am I using the wrong logic here. I'd probably have to get it ported and head milled at the same time I reckon....

I think that the 34mm carb would fit. It's gonna be tight on there though. It will give you a lot more mid to top end power, from 20mph on up. You will notice the difference. I would put it on there. You might lose some low end power but you can make that up with reeds or sprockets. A reed cage will give you a lot more power. Also try drilling some more holes in your airbox. It'll give it a little more power.

You will decrease throttle response if you make this change, I don't think that's something you have lots of to sacrifice with a trailblazer. You will also have to spend time getting the combination jetted properly. I really don't think it is worth the effort!

It doesn't have reeds? Isn't it a two stroke? It seems like a big carb to be on a 250 stock. Why did they change the size of carbs on the new ones?
