Got my first Polaris this weekend

I got my first Polaris this Saturday, and it rocks! I took it down to the Saline River here in Arkansas and tested it out in some nice mud holes. It pulled through all of them with ease. I couldn't be happier with my new bike. I have been riding a 2006 350 Honda Rancher ES for the last couple of years and this new Polaris rides like a Cadillac compared to it. 4 wheel drive is awesome, I have been used to having to make a trail to go around the big wholes, in fear of getting stuck and spending 30 minutes getting it out. Now I can take off in the holes and not worry about getting stuck, I know the winch will get me out. Beats getting in the mud and trying to push it out.

Congrats!! I love mine too. So far the flat black is holding up good. I take care of it but not to the point that I dont treat it like an atv. The scratches still show but no where near what shiny black would be. Overall I've been very happy with everything about it. It's like a cadillac for the woods!

I did get the 2008. I too put some scratches on mine already, and covered it in mud. Spent around 2 hours the next day cleaning it back up. Seemed to keep on finding mud build ups. So it looks new again, except for the few scratches. I am planning a camping trip to Moccasin Gap, which is in Dover, Arkansas in the Ozark Mountains. This is a great place to ride, I have been going there for about 3 years now. It has everything you would want in trail riding (creeks, mud, mountains), it has an easy ride, up to the experienced ride. We camp at a horse camp and ride the 4 wheelers from there, straight on to the trails. I can't wait to take the new sporty out there, I am used to getting beat to death on my 350. It should be a lot more fun from now on.

You know it seems like you never can get all the mud out of these bikes it just keeps coming and coming. I was talking to a service tech today at a dealership I'm gonna start buying my stuff at. Its a bit farther than the one I bought my bike @ but these guys seem to really care about Polaris and they know what they are talking about. Anyway he was saying the major problems they come across are from lack of maintenance. Change your oil bout twice a year and clean your brakes and rotors, and spray off your cv boots, a arm bushings, and basically all your rubber components. According to him if these simple steps are done your bike will last a long time with no major problems.
