O.K., I can get a DG Xtreme pipe and silencer for an even 200 bucks from my friend at the dealership. Now, I already have an HPD pipe, but I like the looks of the DG A LOT better. I know a couple people run DG's, but HPD does seem to be a lot more popular. Is there really that big a difference power-wise? If not, I just a soon get the better looking pipe and be ahead 50 bucks, less shipping to return the HPD pipe. I'll keep the clutch kit though.

What if you kept the HPD pipe and just added a DG silencer? I think you can do that....? I would guess the pipe is where you really get the added hp rather than the silencer. I agree at anyrate - DG's silencer is much better looking - but I can't say I've ever heard any great remarks about DG's items.

Opinions from those who have owned DG exhaust....?

BTW, what kind of handgaurds did you get fasternu?

I have a DG pipe and silencer on my 96 scrambler and it gave me tonnes of high range. I could go way than my buddies new stock 400. I can't say much about the low range, maybe added a little.

My friend at the dealership called the catalog company and said the 99 pipe won't work on the 2000. Uh, OK. So I don't know what I'm gonna do. Wait a week then say the hell w/ it. 00TB250, I got my handguards right from Polaris. I wasn't crazy about them costin' 50 bucks, but what can ya do. They look pretty good, though. I was afraid they'd look like mickey mouse ears like the ones on the Sportsman in the catalog, but not so. They really make the rock guard stand out(also from polaris-how can you go wrong for 20 bucks?). Anyways, there was a scrambler on the showroom that had the hanguards installed, so I cheated by looking at how they were mounted. If not, I woulda' been lost I had it out on the lake last weekend, and noticed quick and in a hurry that the cold wind wasn't penetrating through my gloves and makin' my fingers go numb like usual. I can't wait to try them through the puckerbrush this spring

The 99 pipe won't fit a 00? I thought there was no major difference in the two years. Only difference I was aware of was like on the 98's and older didn't have the concentric drive. ???

$50 for the handguards isn't to bad if they don't look like mickey ears - I had the same concern. Some of the ones I've found on the net look sharp but they want like $70 for them. Ouch! I guess you have to pay to play.
