my battery is dead in my speedo in my 2004 sportsman. does anyone know where i could send it to to be replaced or can i fix it myself?

 

I don't think there is a battery in the speedo. I'm sure it'll run power off the bike itself. Does it not work at all?? If not you may be having a wiring issue. Is there anything else not working?? Like the 4wd?

well there is one. how do you guy's think that it holds the mileage and hour in memory? according to my official polaris service manual it say's that it is not replaceable but i thought that one of you guru's might know of a way to change it. everything works but when you turn it off the mileage goes back to zero along with the hours. according to the speedo i have a 2004 that has never been moved or cranked. ha ha ha

 

steve's right as it has an internal non serviable battery as well as the light bulb is non replaceable. got to love new technogloy and the non repairable parts.

got one at work, i'll try it out tomorrow, broken broken anyway, no AWD
