Default question about recall

your dealer is not full of BS, IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT. blame polaris's supplier for the wait. polaris or your dealer is not to blame, it is the company that built the shitty SUREPOWER MODULE in the first place.

Default question about recall

after 7 weeks and a number of calls I picked mine up and have been using it. i was just taking the dealers advice about leaving the atv with them. i did find out the ecm is ordered and attached to my vin #. the sad thing is my atv went to the dealer feb21 and i picked it up apr11 (not fixed) my friend called march12 (same dealer), dealer did not want the atv because they had 24 sitting in small shop. march 18 his ecm came in, dealer called, 20 minutes job done. the explanation was the part had his vin# attached to it. WOW!

anyway I have my bike back and am using it (for work and play). just wait for the call to have ecm replaced.

the waiting sucks for sure, but its better then paying like $160.00 give or take for it for sure. if you have the recall letter just take that in to the dealer and have them order the part and when it comes in bring the bike to them then.

Guys, do like Stendori said, and run it until the part comes in. My 500 is sitting in the garage with the negative cable disconnected. If I want to ride it, I hook it up and ride. I won't take it to the dealer just so it can sit there for who knows how long.</end quote></div>

Really disconnect the neg? The module gets power all the time?

Oilbrnr,

Just going by what the recall letter says to do. Apparently the ECM can't catch fire just sitting there if the Negative cable is disconnected.

That would be great if it did huh!

Crap, well I guess I'll have to give the dealer a call again. They called me about a month ago and said that they had a bunch of ECMs in, but I needed it for a trip that weekend, and could not guaranty that I'd get it back in time.
