just wondering if any one had ever mounted one of these on thier hawkeye and if so where.

Thought of getting one but it would not fit within the confines of the Po rack. Then found the 400 will get 100+miles per tank so its not needed for my type of ridin'.

Hey Mongrol, interesting that you should bring up mileage, did your mileage increase as you got more miles on your rigs?

Improved quite a bit, 20% maybe. I really babied them during breaking and seems to have had the rings seal up pretty good. Never used a full tank of gas on the Hawkeye on a trip and the first trip with both machines showed the same fuel consomption but that was driving pretty conservatively.

the only way i see to do it is drill holes in the back rack to either mount it flat or upright w/ the bracket. heres a couple of pics mounted on my 800 rack.
