just bought this used ,So bear with me
Its a 700 twin sportsman 2003
the speedo pod appears to be completely burnt out no lights, no speedo,no LCD
the quad has 4wd in reverse but nothing in Forward
doing dounuts in snow rear wheels slipping yet fronts won't engage
Shift into reverse 4wd with out pushing in on AWD button

Should there be 4wd at all if speedo pot is completely fryed?

if the speedo is fried then it most likely wont have awd at all. now that being said hopefully the front end roller cage isnt broke causing it to go in and out like sometimes it does.

 

Would any one have a schematic showing this roller cage?

I have checked the online parts manuals don't see it listed

Is called something else?

 

Go to www.partsland.com and pull up your schematic...I just fixed a 2004 Sportsman 600 with same problem..The problem was a broken wire going to the speedometer..If the speedometer does not work you will have no four wheel drive...Check for broken or pinched wire ..
