Default Highlifter front springs.

I just got new highlifter front springs for my 2002 500 HO, from my local parts guy, and when I opened the box something didn't look right. One of the springs looked brand new but the other looked used and even had mud on it!! Then once I had them out of the box, one spring is shorter than the other by about 1/2 inch or maybe 5/8 inch. I don't really care much about the mud but will installing them with one shorter make my bike sit off, or will the weight of the bike even them out?? I talked to the guy I got them from and he said install them and if I'm not happy, bring them back and he would get me some other ones. My question is, should I go through all the work of putting them on and see what happens or just take them back. I'm not sure if this box came from Highlifter that way or if the parts guy is doin something funny here. Thanks in advance for your help.
Rob.

I wouldn't install them. They should be the same length. And the one with mud on it, that's just not acceptable. I'd demand a new set.

are ya kidding me? thats a no brainer - anyone who would try to sell me used dirty unmatched parts as "new" would be giving me my money back and I would never buy from him again. And he says just install them? thats beyond insulting

if he did"nt make it right with me(NEW springs)..he would look awful funny with a spring sticking out of each ear..and that would be my second choice of where to stick em!! I ORDERED mine directly from H/L and was very much happy with the prodcut and the customer service i recieved..I would ALWAYS rather pay a few extra bucks to get great suport and service..just my 2-cents...GOOD LUCK TO YA!!!!!!!!!!

Turns out the two springs were not even the same spring rate. The dude I got them from was pissed when he put the two side by side and saw the difference in length and coil size. New ones will be at his shop by thursday. I saved like $30.00 buying from this guy, but 3 trips to his shop is going to rub out that savings. Gas up here works out to $4.85 a US gallon, and it's 30 miles round trip to his shop. Oh well.

I have installed seven sets on our Sportsman's and we are very happy with them..I ordered ours from Dennis Kirk ...two days shipping..We are all running winches and front brush guard and the Highlifter Springs put the front end back up and no more bottoming out on the rough trails....

MR -

What is the product number from DENNISKIRK? How much and are these
for all Sportmans models (I would need one for the 800).

Regards,

R'
