The cyl head guage measure head tmp, usually around 450 deg. F. It would do the same on the 400 only slightly lower reading.

If you do run into an overheating problem with the Hawkeye and your weather conditions, Polaris makes an oil cooler for this...although it is a bit spendy! Not sure but I would thing there should be an aftermarket product that could be made to work for less $$$...Snowmobile/motorcycle part maybe????

Check to see the make of plug in your machine. Find the mfgs web site and look for spark plug dimensions.
