I am pretty sure that you can. I do have a funny story about wheel spacers. I and my freinds were taking a break from riding one day and a few kids on some sport quads rode up. This one kid was comming down the hill and was going to ride between two trees. The front tires went through just fine and the back tires wedged stopping the kid at a jerk. He thought he could spin up and over, so he nailed the gas and when he did he spun both tires clean off the rims. He told us that he usually fits through there but he put on some spacers the night before. We helped him get the tires back and he was very greatful. I still laugh every time I see those two trees.

Try a search on wheel spacers. There have been quite a few threads about them. I'm not a big fan of them, but alot of the guys swear by them.

What would be the reason for spacing your wheels out?? Stability?

I have 1.5" spacers on my wifes sp700 so the 27" tires on stock aluminum rims would clear. I have had no problems with them. I also put them on my rhino with no problems. Not sure what problems they would cause unless they were not installed correctly? I know people put them on their 4x4 trucks, too. I, personally, like the wider stance and improved stability. However, keep in mind it does make your quad wider like the guy who hit the trees learned! LMAO!

BTW, if you decide to get some, make sure you go with the full aluminum disc type, not the stud bolt extension type. These seem like they would just put undue stress on the studbolts and easily break under moderate force.

most of the time w/ after market rims they have enough of an offset you dont need spacers.

LOL at the guy sticking it between the trees. I've been stuck like that, even without spacers, more than once. Fried my belt too. Twice. 100 miles later it shreds. The trails are supposed to be maintained at 50" but some spots are closer to 45 than 50. We make our own shotcuts or start cutting trees down. I'd like to know where these other guys ride their 58 inch wide quads.
