Sounds like a jetting issue to me. If its an air leak they tend to not idle. What jet do you have in there and what is your elevation? IMO the oiling didn't have anythiong to do with burning a hole in your piston. Everyone I have ever seen with a lack of oil ended up with a scored piston, not a hole. I'd leave it alone and check your carb and jetting.

 

it is the stock jet, i cleaned the carb and blew the jets out real good
the second after the second piston.

 

If you do sell this I hope you tell the buyer of the issues you are having, or had with this machine. Theres too many people out there that sell their problems to someone else and its just not the right thing to do

 

I would tell this person. I have the old pistons.
There are people out there that would never say anything.
Just so happens I'm not one of them.

Since it has stock jet, to change the jet what should i change it to?

According to Polaris' parts program the stock jet should be a 230 main. When you took the carb apart did you take EVERYTHING out of it or just the jets? Would the machine idle correctly? Did you take carb cleaner and spray around the carb boot, and cylinder gasket? It still sounds like a lean problem to me. When you cleaned it did you soak the carb in carb cleaner or just spray it clean?

 

I took it all part and cleaned everything. i took the jets and sprayed cleaner in them then blew them out.

how much bigger can i go with the jet?

i really want to fix the problem not hide it

 

If it's all stock and you have the 230 main jet in it then that's not going to be your problem. It takes an extreme amount of heat to burn a hole thru a piston in 15 min. It has to be a lean condition though, a really bad one.
