Hawkeye front driveshaft question
#1
I noticed that there is quite a bit of slop in the splines between the yoke and the transmission output shaft. I can't say I've ever paid that much attention to the "slop", but I have kept it greased so I don't know if this is normal or not. I would assume you don't want any slop in the splines up and down.
I don't use 4WD very often and wonder if this is a problem with this setup, ie a normal wear item or not. The quad has only 41 hours on it, and about 420 miles.
I appreciate any feedback anyone has.

Caper,
Whew.... Dialup sucks!!! Took forever to download the video. Stupid me then saw the transcript is lower down on the page.
It didn't say anything about the yoke splines though. The u-joints on mine are fine, it is play between the yoke and output shaft splines that I'm concerned about. No side to side (rotating) play, just up and down movement. Guess I'll have to call the dealer tomorrow. Bummer!

I can't say exactly how much, more than I think there should be but I'm not a Polaris mechanic either. It might move up and down 3/32" maybe? I'm not experiencing any vibrations from it though.
I going on what I experienced with the front DS on my Jeep. Same problem, and I had to have the splined shaft on it replaced.
