Default Dry weight Gross weight

Could someone tell me the differences in the two? My manual says dry weight is 728lbs but gross weight is 1200lbs? Are they adding for an average sized person? Plus full tank of gas? I figure 1000lbs if you take both those things into consideration.

I suppose I should ahve done a search first , I found the answer. Any else thats interested. Dry is basically the bike with no fluids and no weight. Gross weight is the total the bike can safely carry. so at 1200 - 728 = 472lbs to work with. say maybe approximatley 40lbs of fluids including full tank gas , 30lbs winch, me at 185lbs, rear seat guessing 20lbs, I'm good for roughly 200lbs of cargo. Knowing this now Polaris really has to put on better springs if they are going to be selling plows and saying the rear rack is good for 180lbs.
