Default Top Speed of the 700

I bought a 2004 Polaris 700 vtwin. It has 502 miles on it. I had to take it straight to the shop for some transmission repairs and have not had a chance to ride it. It's supposed to be ready Friday. What should the top speed on this machine be approximately? My friend has an Arctic Cat 650 and he said today that he had it up to 81mph and it's stock. Is he bullshitting? Thanks and looking forward to Friday.

What cliff did it fall off to achieve this speed?

On GPS I got 56.7 with my "99" 500 Magnum maxed right out-Only mods are K&N jet kit and Air Filter, everything else is stock including tire size.

MaineWheeler, I had a 2000 Magnum 500, and it did exactly 56 mph maxed right out. My '07 700 EFI will do 70mph.
