Default running out of gas

I would like to know if anyone with a 2004.5 700 efi sp. is haveing the same problem. You can ride for about 2 hr's and then it will die . It act's like it runs out of gas. let it set about an hr' and it will start and run just fine. for awhile then it will do it agin. didn't have a very good weekend. let me tell ya them 700's are heavy when they are upsidedown on top of you. now my holiday weekend off of work got extended by a couple of day's, doctors orders

Ouch! I hope you are ok. Sounds like you could have a clogged tank vent??

Yes, sounds like you're okay of you only need a couple days off work. Glad to hear that. No broken bones at least.

Definitely sounds like a tank venting problem. Or if not that, maybe the fuel pump is getting hot and shutting down until it cools off. My 800 has never shut down on its own.

next time it shuts down listen for the fuel pump when you try to star it. but i see you made another post so maybe you already found out it was the pump.

well I dont know. but when it act's up the fuelpump sounds like it's not pump'en like it should. It dont always do it. the last time we rode. we rode hard for hours and no problem's . So im going to replace the pump & the E.T.C and see what happens.
