I bought a 1999 Sport 400 and while looking or parts I came accross parts for a 400L. The atv says Sport 400 so I asume that it is just the 400 and not a 400L. Would it say 400L on the plastics if thats what it is? Also what are the differences between the 2. Thanks in advance for any info

 

400L is a 400 liquid cooled all 2stroke 400s are Ls.The first 400 Sports came out in 94 or 95 and were a GENII style where the 96-99 was a GENIII.Most motor parts will inter change

 

Im parting out a 98 Xplorer. What parts are you looking for, just the fenders(which won't work off mine) Maybe something I have you could use?

 

Well I have a 400L than. I am trying to buy a silencer and the strange thing is different ones come up for the 400 and 400L. Shouldn't they be interchangable?

 

You need to find a pipe and silencer for a 400 Expolrer or 400 Sportsman 1994-98

 

All I was really interested in was a silencer not the entire pipe. The silencers for the explorers should bolt right up to my sport 400?

 

I think I am going to go with the FMF Turbine core 2 silencer. What do you guys think?

 

I think you should have dyno proof that it does what you want it to, before you shell out any $$.

 

Tubuine core II is a great silencer if it will work.
